Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC) Stock Rebounds As Q3 Results Expose Thin Margins
Share
Listen to the news

Lattice Semiconductor just ripped higher, with the stock jumping about 11% today, snapping back from a rough 30‑day stretch where it had fallen about 21%. Traders are reacting to a headline Q3 2026 print that showed revenue of US$291.0m and basic earnings per share of roughly US$0.08.

That pop illustrates how quickly sentiment can flip on a high multiple chip designer. However, the real story sits in the margin picture. Q3 profit sits on a trailing net margin of only 5.5%, and that slim cushion is where the longer term risk and reward for Lattice Semiconductor will be decided.

Love the rebound in Lattice Semiconductor but concerned that a 5.5% net margin leaves little room for error. Check out our list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals stocks (24 results).

Q3 2026 Earnings Summary

  • Revenue (Q3 2026 vs. Q3 2025): US$291.0m vs. US$133.3m (very large increase)
  • Net Income, Excl. Extra Items (Q3 2026 vs. Q3 2025): US$11.2m vs. US$2.8m (very large increase)
  • Basic EPS (Q3 2026 vs. Q3 2025): US$0.08 vs. US$0.02 (very large increase)
  • Net Profit Margin (Trailing 12 Months vs. Prior Year): 5.5% vs. 5.2% (slight improvement)
Earnings only capture part of the picture, since cash flows show what money actually comes in and out of Lattice Semiconductor's business. When you line up Lattice Semiconductor's cash flows against the current share price, the stock could be a mild 11% undervalued.

Lattice Semiconductor’s AI and Platform Story Under the Microscope

Optimists argue that Lattice Semiconductor can turn its AI and AMI push into a broader control platform. The latest quarter gives a scorecard.

"The combination of Lattice FPGAs with AMI firmware and manageability software creates a more complete, silicon agnostic control platform for data center and infrastructure customers, which can deepen design wins and expand the share of system value captured in both revenue and earnings."

Q3 FPGA revenue of US$252m and AMI at US$39m, together with non GAAP gross margin of 70.9% and operating margin of 41.1%, show that the combined stack is already producing scale and rich economics. The Q4 guide to US$325m to US$345m, plus EPS of US$0.82 to US$0.86, suggests this integration is translating into larger deals rather than remaining a slideware concept.

Stress Testing Lattice’s Execution And Concentration Risks

The bear story focuses on supply strain, tariffs, and over reliance on a narrow product set. The quarter gives some early answers.

"Industry wide supply constraints at the assembly and test stage, together with rising supply chain costs that Lattice Semiconductor can only partially pass through, could limit the company’s ability to ship against its strong backlog and compress gross margins, which would weigh on revenue conversion and net margins."

Management reports multi year supply agreements, improving lead times, and Q3 non GAAP gross margin near 71%, rising to a guided ~72% in Q4. That margin profile, alongside Q3 free cash flow of US$77.6m and secured backlog into 2027 to 2028, points to current supply being a support rather than a drag, even as concentration in low power FPGAs keeps the underlying risk alive.

Hunt Quiet Disconnects In Plain Sight

Lattice Semiconductor just reminded traders how quickly expectations can reset when margins and narrative collide. The real opportunity is finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market corrects them.

  • Company 1 - 38% below our estimate - uses heavy investment to expand high horsepower engine capacity serving long term data center power contracts.
  • Company 2 - 43% below our estimate - sells large LED display and software packages into bigger venue projects and smart transportation upgrades.
  • Company 3 - 28% below our estimate - rebuilds a regional bank by acquiring smaller lenders and pushing customers onto upgraded digital deposit and treasury platforms.
