Market commentator and television personality Jim Cramer’s vague social media post on cryptocurrency left many people puzzled on Tuesday.

What is Cramer Cooking?

Cramer posted "Crypto put us on" on X, immediately triggering a swarm of replies and interpretations, some very funny.

Leading cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez and The Bitcoin Conference treated it as a bearish signal, leaning on the well-known "Inverse Cramer" meme, which treats doing the opposite of Cramer’s advice as a contrarian trading strategy.

Former Goldman Sachs executive and Web3 entrepreneur Dom Kwok was unsure if the statement is bullish or bearish for crypto markets.

Another X user named “John” took the discussion in a different direction, asking whether Cramer has stepped into “crypto puts” or bearish options trades.

Cramer’s Crypto Stance Over the Years

Traditionally, "put us on" means to deceive or fool someone, but in modern usage it usually means putting someone onto something worthwhile or useful. So, you can’t really blame someone for not having a clue, can you?

Cramer’s view on cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), has shifted between outright dismissal, enthusiastic support, and renewed skepticism.

Last year, he described Bitcoin as a "great thing" to have in investment portfolios. Back in 2023, he dismissed cryptocurrencies as a "scam" and warned investors to stay away from the asset class.

The “Mad Money” host’s latest post follows the massive $6.3 billion Binance hack that spooked the industry. Most major coins are down sharply over the week and month.
