12:24 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of France Governor Emmanuel Moulin signaled that the central bank may "slightly lower" its 2026 growth forecast for the country after an unexpected third-quarter economic contraction, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday. Speaking at the Jeco conference in Lyon, France, Moulin viewed the existing gross domestic product outlook of a 0.4% rise as "a bit too optimistic," while noting that the current trajectory of monetary policy tightening remains appropriate. The report noted that the Bank of France is scheduled to update its macroeconomic forecasts in December, following the European Central Bank's monetary policy meeting.
