On a per-share basis, the Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based company said it had net income of $1.41. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.91 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.79 per share.

The supplier of automotive equipment posted revenue of $2.45 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.42 billion.

Versigent expects full-year revenue in the range of $9.5 billion to $9.6 billion.
