Aehr Test Systems (AEHR) stock ripped higher on Nov. 3 after the semiconductor equipment firm posted a blockbuster Q3 release, featuring a 200% year-over-year increase in revenue to $33 million. More importantly, management expects that growth rate to continue, as evidenced by its fiscal 2027 guidance for $150 million in revenue — roughly triple the number it reported last year.
Despite the post-earnings rally, AEHR shares are trading down 55% versus its year-to-date high.
AEHR’s latest quarterly print reinforces the view that it’s emerging as a key beneficiary of artificial intelligence (AI) chip deployments. Q3 bookings reached $46.7 million, handily exceeding sales and producing a book-to-bill ratio of about 1.4x. The Nasdaq-listed firm ended the quarter with a $100.9 million backlog.
Crucially, profitability improved as well; GAAP net income came in at $7.2 million, compared with a loss of $2.1 million a year earlier, demonstrating operating leverage embedded in the company’s business model.
Management attributed the strength to rising adoption of its wafer-level and package-level burn-in technologies used to qualify artificial intelligence processors before deployment into data centers.
Beyond the headline earnings beat, AEHR stock is attractive because of several structural growth trends.
The company's test and burn-in systems are designed for high-performance semiconductors used in artificial intelligence, silicon photonics, automotive applications, power devices, and advanced data center infrastructure. These are markets expected to require greater reliability testing as chip complexity grows.
Additionally, Aehr Test Systems maintains a healthy balance sheet, which positions it to capitalize on what remains of the strongest spending cycles in the semiconductor history.
That said, Barchart currently has a “72% SELL” average opinion on AEHR, signaling technical momentum nonetheless is not in its favor for the near-term.
Wall Street analysts also recommend gaining exposure to AEHR shares after the company’s fiscal Q3 earnings on Nov. 3.
According to Barchart, the consensus rating on Aehr Test Systems sits at “Strong Buy,” with the mean price target of about $128 indicating the stock could roughly double from here over the next 12 months.
