09:33 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- OHB's (OHB.F) subsidiary OHB System secured a 554 million-euro contract to develop the next generation of the Sentinel-3 topography satellite under Europe's Copernicus earth observation program. Under the contract from the European Space Agency, the aerospace and technology group's unit will serve as the prime contractor for the Sentinel-3 Next Generation Topography, or S3-NGT, satellite, and will work with a European industrial consortium. The deal includes an option for a second satellite. S3-NGT will focus on oceans, coastal regions, sea ice and inland waters, and the data will support climate research, environmental monitoring and the protection of polar ice caps, the company added.
