Microsoft is planning a $340 million data center campus consisting of three buildings totaling nearly 1.7 million square feet. The data center will be located in Floyd County, just outside the Atlanta metro area. It’s expected to employ 150 people.

Microsoft has been active in Georgia. The company is currently building data centers in Douglasville, Palmetto and East Point, in addition to a $1.8 billion center underway in Union City.

The recently announced one is expected to be finished in 2032, around the same time as Microsoft’s Union City center.

The data center will use a maximum of 13,500 gallons of water per day, operating 24 hours per day, five days a week.
