On a per-share basis, the Davidson, North Carolina-based company said it had profit of $3.77. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and restructuring costs, were $3.94 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.76 per share.

The engineering firm posted revenue of $952.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $937 million.

Curtiss-Wright expects full-year earnings in the range of $15.40 to $15.60 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.8 billion to $3.84 billion.
