11:35 PM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Equinor (EQNR.OL) suspended operations at its Visund oil and gas platform in the North Sea on Wednesday following a fire in an electrical system, Reuters reported the same day, citing an emailed statement from a spokesperson. Although the fire had been extinguished, the Norwegian energy group said it could not resume operations until repairs were complete. The timeline for restarting operations remains uncertain, according to the report. The company moved 70 to 80 of the 128 people on board to nearby ⁠installations, the report added. Equinor did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
