03:46 AM EST, 11/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- France's construction sector continued to contract sharply in October, with weakness in residential, civil engineering, and commercial construction activity, as rising input cost inflation and new orders dragged down purchasing and employment, S&P Global said Thursday. The headline S&P Global France Construction PMI Total Activity Index dropped to 38.8 in October from 39.8 in September, remaining well below the 50.0 mark separating growth from contraction.
