05:17 AM EST, 11/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize (AD.AS) signed a new virtual power purchase agreement tied to Rezolv Energy's renewable projects in Romania. The deal covers the Dunarea East wind farm in Constanta county, which is set to produce 780 gigawatt-hours of annual output, and the Dama solar farm in Arad County, which is expected to produce 1,800 GWh a year. Both projects are expected to start commercial operations in 2029, according to a Thursday release. Under the deal, the food retail company will contract 14% of the projects' combined output and receive guarantees of origin for 10 years, starting in 2029. Based on projected consumption, the deal would allow Ahold Delhaize to fully match all electricity use across its European operations with renewable power by 2030, five years ahead of its 2035 target.
