Pura Vida Miami has opened a new location in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, marking the popular café brand’s first foray into the Northeast U.S. The national chain of wellness-oriented cafés has opened its doors at 95 Mount Auburn St., occupying the entire ground floor of the three-story, Class A office and retail building neighboring Harvard University.

Boston-based The Bulfinch Companies, which owns the 12,984-square-foot property through an affiliate, signed the purveyor of cold-pressed juices and açaí bowls as a tenant in the first quarter. Bulfinch appointed Boston Realty Advisors as the building’s retail leasing agent last year. Founded in Miami in 2012, and currently headquartered in the city’s Wynwood district, Pura Vida Miami has grown to more than 50 locations across seven states and Washington, D.C., with the latest addition marking its first café in Massachusetts.

“Harvard Square is experiencing a genuine retail resurgence, and Pura Vida Miami’s arrival is a strong example of the caliber of brands choosing to invest here,” said Michael Wilcox, Managing Director of Leasing at Bulfinch in a statement.
