U.S. stocks traded mixed midway through trading, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 50 points on Tuesday.

The Dow traded up 0.13% to 46,267.56 while the NASDAQ fell 0.49% to 21,839.82. The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.05% to 6,577.63.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Energy shares climbed by 2.5% on Tuesday.

In trading on Monday, communication services stocks fell by 1.2%.

Top Headline

The flash S&P Global composite PMI declined to 51.4 in March from 51.9 in February, recording its lowest reading since April 2025.

Equities Trading UP
           

  • Paranovus Entertainment Technology Ltd. (NASDAQ:PAVS) shares shot up 123% to $0.66 after the company announced that it terminated an at-the-market equity sales agreement with Alliance Global Partners.
  • Shares of NetGear Inc (NASDAQ:NTGR) got a boost, surging 11% to $24.49 after the FCC added internet routers made in foreign countries to its covered list of prohibited products.
  • ENvue Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:FEED) shares were also up, gaining 37% to $1.96 after the company announced a purchase of the ENvue Navigation Platform and feeding tubes by a premier teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center in Michigan, bringing the company’s total U.S. footprint to 39 hospitals.

Equities Trading DOWN

  • Ridgetech, Inc. (NASDAQ:RDGT) shares dropped 62% to $1.36. This month, the company disclosed its 2026 dual-engine growth strategy.
  • Shares of Outlook Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:OTLK) were down 46% to $0.17 after the company announced pricing of $5.0 million public offering.
  • Concentrix Corp (NASDAQ:CNXC) was down, falling 25% to $24.88 after the company reported mixed first-quarter financial results and issued second-quarter adjusted EPS and sales guidance below estimates.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded up 3.9% to $91.56 while gold traded down 0.2% at $4,399.90.

Silver traded down 0.6% to $68.945 on Tuesday, while copper fell 0.8% to $5.4295.

Euro zone

European shares were mostly lower today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 fell 0.1%, while Spain's IBEX 35 Index fell 0.7%. London's FTSE 100 rose 0.2%, Germany's DAX declined 0.7% and France's CAC 40 fell 0.2% during the session.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed higher on Tuesday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 gaining 1.43%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gaining 2.79%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 1.78% and India's BSE Sensex surging 1.89%.

Economics

  • The flash S&P Global composite PMI declined to 51.4 in March from 51.9 in February, recording its lowest reading since April 2025.
  • The S&P Global services PMI declined to 51.1 in March from 51.7 in the prior month, signalling the softest pace of growth in eleven months.
  • The S&P Global manufacturing PMI rose to 52.4 in March from 51.6 in the previous month and topping market estimates of 51.3.
  • Unit labor costs in the nonfarm business sector increased by 4.4% in the fourth quarter, up from preliminary reading of 2.8% and following a 1% gain in the third quarter.
  • U.S. nonfarm business labor productivity rose by 1.8% in the fourth quarter, compared to the preliminary reading of 2.8% and versus the 5.2% surge in the previous quarter.
