
U.S. stocks traded lower this morning, with the Dow Jones index falling more than 200 points on Thursday.
Following the market opening Thursday, the Dow traded down 0.44% to 49,271.18 while the NASDAQ fell 0.31% to 24,581.28. The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.22% to 7,122.47.
Leading and Lagging Sectors
Utilities shares jumped by 1.4% on Thursday.
In trading on Thursday, information technology stocks fell by 0.7%.
Top Headline
Shares of Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) fell over 1% on Thursday after the company reported first-quarter financial results.
Tesla reported first-quarter revenue of $22.71 billion, up 16% year-over-year. The revenue missed a Street consensus estimate of $22.39 billion, according to data from Benzinga Pro. Tesla's adjusted earnings per share of 41 cents beat a Street consensus estimate of 37 cents per share.

In commodity news, oil traded up 1.4% to $94.22 while gold traded down 0.2% at $4,744.20.
Silver traded down 2.7% to $75.840 on Thursday, while copper fell 1.1% to $6.0600.
Euro zone
European shares were mostly lower today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 declined 0.1%, while Spain's IBEX 35 Index fell 0.7%. London's FTSE 100 fell 0.3%, Germany's DAX slipped 0.3% and France's CAC 40 gained 0.7% during the session.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed lower on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 falling 0.75%, China's Shanghai Composite declining 0.32%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dipping 0.95% and India's BSE Sensex dropping 1.09%.
